ASFE event at the Madrid Motor Show, May 2006
ASFE held an event on synthetic fuels during the Madrid Motor Shows in May 2006. Invited to speak at this occasion, Mr. Enrique Jiménez Larrea, Director General, Spanish Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE) gave an overview of the existing regulatory framework and political challenges in Spain.
ASFE members explained how synthetic fuels can contribute to achieving some of the EU’s key political objectives such as the fight against climate change, energy efficiency, energy security and the improvement of air quality. Progresses in joint projects between car manufacturers and energy companies have been presented, that enable the development of new generation engines with improved energy efficiency and reduced emissions thank to the use of synthetic fuels.
