CEN Workshop on Automotive Fuels-Paraffinic diesel for use in automotive diesel engines-Requirements and Test Methods™
The CEN Workshop on paraffinic diesel for use in automotive diesel engines™ was established at the initiative of ASFE, as part of its work to promote clean alternative fuel options for sustainable transport. Kicked-off in Brussels on 26 November 2007, the aim of the workshop was to provide a clear specification for commercial supplies of synthetic fuel in Europe.
The CWA 15940* Automotive fuels-Paraffinic diesel from synthesis or hydro-treatment-Requirements and test methods* was successfully completed at the end of February. The conclusions of the Workshop apply to BTL, GTL and HVO since these three clean fuels are identical with respect to chemical composition.
The adopted CWA will be used on a voluntary basis for engine clearance, fuel acceptance and fuelling station allowance.
